Bullish Nancy does not fear dismissal however supporters show wrath following defeat.
The Celtic boss stated he did not fear dismissal, claiming, “I believe we are really close to changing our fortunes,” despite edging perilously close to the exit with a convincing loss to their arch-rivals.
Another Capitulation Leads to Old Firm Defeat
The home side were in front Rangers at the break but a second-half capitulation enabled Rangers to pull level on points with the current Scottish Premiership champions. Nancy, who was appointed from the MLS, has now been in charge for six setbacks in his first eight games.

Nancy remains focused on the fact his team can perform strongly for a half at a time. For instance, were it not for wastefulness in front of goal they could have been better than 1-0 up. “There were positives except the fact that we missed our chances,” he said. “I know that we lost, but I must remain objective.
“The performance we had at certain moments was exceptionally high. That happened. I wouldn't say that if it was not the case. That is the reason, when it comes to wins, I mentioned this is the same story. That’s why I believe we are nearly there to things turning around. Right now: small things.”
“We produced many, many good things that we did, as was the case today. But now is sustaining it. My outlook would be different if it was not the case. Therefore I am a big believer we will manage to get back on track.”
Opposition Reaction Response
Danny Röhl was cautious about a championship push in spite of what appeared to be a landmark win. “We take it game by game, then we can develop a challenge,” he said. “The confidence in the squad is excellent.”
