Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities report that a former doctor stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.

The Grave Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Breakdown of Charges

The charging documents outline the forty-five charges comprise:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police are urging anyone with concerns to contact the relevant police force.
