Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who breached a barrier and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating clip reveals the individual from Australia shoving aside media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the performers walked down a promenade flanked by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the event by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being arrested", though court documents showed that he was set to attend court on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a performance. His Instagram profile includes recordings of him disrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney concert in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last winter.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is obviously a punishable act," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Fans Voice Worry Over the Star's Safety

Many supporters accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed dealing with PTSD after a devastating incident at the finale of her 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote another comment on Instagram.

Some supporters also criticised guards at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals requested online networks to block Mr Wen's content.

Response and Premiere Information

In clips shared widely, Grande looked startled when she was touched by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

Many of fans had gathered in a crowd of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore mall, including a number who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it began.

The movie, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the acclaimed Broadway and West End production Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected bond between two contrasting witches.

The production itself is a derivative of the 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a rosé sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful film of the previous year in the UK, and earned 10 Academy Award nods, securing two for outstanding attire and production design.
