England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

These three athletes have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The finalists were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.

The ceremony will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
