Ukraine has announced the start of mass production for an innovative locally engineered interceptor drone to strengthen its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have begun production, with an additional eleven getting ready to set up assembly lines, the defence ministry announced this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Combat Situations

These UAVs utilize a nationally created technology known as “Octopus” engineered to intercept Iranian-made drones. The system underwent testing in combat and proved effective “at night, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” officials confirmed. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of manufacturing up to 1,000 interceptors daily.
